Most of what I do is very intentional with a specific purpose. These galleries are just my musings, things I make just because.
I've started to share the work I've always considered personal. I just had my first gallery show. I've had, and been a part of gallery showings in the past, but it was always about my commercial work. Work that had meaning and application prior to the show. This was an art show about art. It is imagery I created not for an art director, editor, client, parent or child, but images that I wanted to make. The show was called 'SHIFT".
Lord of the Rings
The Lord of the Rings (books not movies) has always been stuck in my head. That's not unusual, particularly in the time I grew up. Illustrating it would be a labor of love. I think it will be my retirement project someday. I imagine the difficult thing would be to bring your own visualization. The movies have taken over the collective consciousness of how the world imagines the story.
