Can't say a lot about it yet, but it'll shiver your timbers.
Here are a few of the first sketches for the Mars book along side the final art.
This was some of the work I had to do before I could get my head around going to Mars. Nasa's website was my primary source for concept images and theories on how they are planning to do this.
A couple of images from "Hey-Ho To Mars We'll Go" which published yesterday.
Here is a spread from the soon to be released "Hey-Ho To Mars We'll Go". It is a scene where the astronauts have been in space a long time and are coping with the boredom until they arrive at Mars. I had one of the Astronauts playing Space Bingo to pass the time. Charlesbridge (the publisher) has asked me to create a set of bingo cards that will be part of the marketing promotion for the book. We tried to keep the book plausible non-fiction. That's why the alien wasn't checked off on my astronaut's card.
New book coming out soon. Hey-Ho To Mars We'll Go! by Susan Lendroth. It's a space age version of Farmer in the Dell. It's fiction of course, but we wanted it to be as plausible as possible. I grew up watching the Apollo missions, so this book fulfilled a few childhood aspirations.
Nothing Like A Puffin has been published in China. It's always fun to see your work in other languages.
A new story is in the works about some adventures in the wilderness of the basement. Here is a campfire scene.
Wrapping up the latest and final (as far as I know) Little Truck book. Introducing - The Little Ice Cream Truck. Out spring of 18.
